Believe Out Loud is offering a workshop to empower churches to increase welcome, acceptance, and support of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender folk. The Believe Out Loud workshop is sponsored by Formation Ministries of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia and Integrity USA. The workshop is geared towards helping members of the community speak to people in their own churches or dioceses about why it's important to welcome and include LGBT people in the life of local church communities. After a long time of specific exclusion from Christian communities, gay and lesbian, bisexual and transgender people are looking for a specific welcome to come back to the church. The workshop provides these tools and allows memebrs to work with your fellow Christians to build their churches as inclusive communities that welcome EVERYONE into the body of Christ.
The 2012 General Assembly Session has begun. Equality Virginia will be focused on supporting legislation that protects our community from discrimination in employment and adoption and opposing legislation that seeks to grant state-funded and state-licensed adoption and foster care agencies associated with religious groups the right to discriminate against us.Page 6 of 18
